Silver Sliding/Propelling Pencil – nice condition

This has now been sold and is for reference only

I think this silver mechanical pencil was made around the late Victorian era. Can only go by the design and when this sort of mechanism was used in pencils, I cannot find any marks.

I must stress this pencil is sold as white metal as I cannot find any marks on it, even though I think it’s pretty certainly silver. I cannot find any inscriptions of any kind to indicate who and where it was made.As you can see from the photo the pencil when closed measures 5″ long and extended it’s about 6.75″ long.
It worked by allowing the lead to be pushed out from the end as the lead wore from usage.
The end of the pencil unscrews so spare leads could be stored.
The pencil as a whole is in great condition as you can see from the pictures, and works fine. The sliding motion is just correct to ensure the lead does not retract whilst writing.
It weighs approximately 21.4 grams.
