Antique Silver Candle Stick Holders
I’m offering a fine pair of silver candlestick holders dated Chester 1915 (pls check photo to confirm), made by James Deakin & Sons.
These Silver Candlesticks are simply but superbly designed with a tapering column, culminating to a splayed square base with cut corners.
The Candlesticks measure 10.25 inches in high or 26cms, the base is 3.6 inches 9.5cm square, and the combined weight is approx. 930 grams. The base has a leather cover, so the Silver candlesticks are weighted and probably filled, I expect if you are looking for silver weight content then I expect about 450 grams will be silver, I’m not destroying these to find out the true weight I estimate 450 grams, so at todays rate the scrap value is about £285.00. so I’ve started at £265.00, expect them to go a lot higher.
The condition of both Silver candlesticks is really good considering their age, no dents or repairs that I can see above the pedestal, and just a couple of minor bumps to the pedestal, they stand solid with no wobble.
Each Silver Candlestick has identical marks, so they are a matching pair.
