Vintage Black 312L Bakelite Telephone GEC Braided Cord
This amazing black bakelite telephone has been sold but see below for more great examples on offer.
I’ve listed on eBay something a bit different than the usual collectible items, it’s an old antique 1930/40s bakelite telephone. The bakelite telephone is black with the old braided cord, made by G.E.C. in bakelite and the model number is 312L
It’s in amazingly good condition considering it’s had so much usage as can be seen by the smoothness of the dial, and also it was in a call exchange. The black bakelite material is pretty strong but I expect would crack with sufficient inpact, this one is good, no damage, no cracks, and the colour is fine.

The bakelite telephone has been tampered with as someone has attempted to convert to todays systems, but it does not work and I’m not going to try and make it work, would rather leave that to someone who is into these vintage telephones. The internal working looks clean and all present including a wiring diagram, it also has a double bell.
